HFA’s Next Leadership Immersion Program Set for Hudson’s Furniture in June

April 13, 2017—

Next Generation Now members can now register for the Home Furnishings Association’s next Leadership Immersion Program slated for June 20-22 at Hudson’s Furniture in Sanford, Fla.

The two-and-a-half-day program gives Next Gen Now members exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to Hudson’s, a top 100 retailer. Attendees will explore the distribution center, corporate headquarters and a local retail storefront and meet with Hudson’s executives and key staff members. “We are excited to have the chance to give back to the industry,” said Hudson’s president, Josh Hudson. “When I was a young executive, I would have loved to have had an opportunity like the NGN Leadership Immersion Experience. I know I’m going to learn from them too!”

HFA’s past programs have been held at R.C. Willey, El Dorado Furniture and American Furniture Warehouse.

“This experience is a few days packed with years of knowledge from industry leaders that have experienced the same hurdles, successes, and changing end consumer,” said Bijan Lalji of Lalji Home, Coquitlam, BC. Lalji attended the most recent program in January at AFW. “This program is one that every young professional in the industry should get involved in. It’s a must do! Companies like these are speaking gold and handing you keys to the kingdom in your territory!”

Erin Donaghy, of Dunk and Bright Furniture, Syracuse, N.Y. has attended two programs. She said, “…both have been amazing. The amount of information we can take in in just a couple of days is unbelievable. And networking with other participants proves to be invaluable as well, such a wonderful program.”

“HFA’s commitment to helping young retail professionals succeed is culminated in this program,” said Sharron Bradley, HFA’s CEO “More programs with best-in-class retailers are being planned.”

As a next-generation business itself, STORIS is the Signature Sponsor for HFA’s Leadership Immersion program. The company’s marketing manager (and second-generation), Kaitlin Surdoval said, “STORIS understands the value of training the next generation of furniture professionals and is happy to be Signature Sponsor of this program.”
