“I’m so glad that Karen Arakelian will be honored as GMFA’s Retailer of the Year,” said Albin Grundner, VP Sales for Bermex and a longtime GMFA board member. “Her drive and love of furniture and design is legendary. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this honor.”
In thanking the GMFA, Karen stated, “I am honored to be receiving the Retailer of the Year award from the industry that I love. It has been my passion for 40 years, and I am thankful for being recognized.”
Another retailer, Harris Kirsch, who has served the home furnishings industry as an independent representative since 1987, will also be honored for his service to the home furnishings industry. He is a long-time member of the GMFA and is the current executive vice president for the association.
The association will also honor Bedgear’s Eugene Alletto with the first Joseph Cory Leadership Award. Alletto is the innovator and creative force behind the fast-growth brand of Bedgear Performance lifestyle products. Eugene has propelled the company to rank on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies.
